Therapeutic Ultrasound

What is Therapeutic Ultrasound for Scars?

Ultrasound is a therapeutic treatment using high frequency sound waves administered in the region of soft tissue injuries. Through sound vibrations tissues can be penetrated in order to warm them, with the heat being utilized to increase blood flow, relax muscle spasms, massage damage tissues, and speed the healing process.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation

Electrical Muscle Stimulation is a special form of electrical current that is administered at the site of soft tissue injury for the relief of pain. This is done through small amounts of current being induced into the tissues to contract and relax the muscles in an effort to reduce muscle spasms and pump out inflammatory factors.

Decompression Traction

Traction therapy is utilized to reduce the pressure off of the nerve roots that may be irritated by herniated discs, bony abnormalities, or inflammatory factors. This therapy is regarded as a non-surgical approach to treating symptoms such as numbness, tingling, and/or sharp pains that may travel through extremities as a result of nerve impingement.

The treatment is done through a handheld sized device that can send light through the skin in order to help eliminate pain, swelling, reduce swelling, and increase the functionality of the tissue more quickly and efficiently.
